Shortcuts to the Exchange Toolbox tools

Other Versions of Exchange

This article is also available for other versions of Exchange.

Exchange 2007
Exchange 2010

Introduction

The Exchange Management Console contains a couple of useful tools for managing Exchange, which are actually separate items. This means that it is quite easy to setup a shortcuts in your Start Menu for those tools, so that you don't have to start them through the Exchange Management Console.

With Windows 2012/2012 R2, you can then pin these shortcuts to the taskbar. The Queue viewer in particular would be useful.

You can either create them manually, or use the script on this page for Exchange 2013, or this one for Exchange 2016.

To create the shortcuts, use the new shortcut wizard and enter the Path shown. Once complete, edit the shortcut and change the icon. The path to the icons is also shown.
